You will need to a driver, your spectacles (or an optometrist’s script), list of current medications and allergies, a current referral from a doctor or optometrist and a pair of sunglasses for your trip home.
Most health funds have introduced “known gap” arrangements to limit out-of-pocket expenses for surgery. We offer all patients covered by these health funds ‘known gap” surgical fees.
We accept cash, cheque, EFTPOS, Visa and MasterCard.
You should allow two to three hours for your first consultation.
In order to claim a refund from Medicare, you must have a current referral from a doctor or optometrist prior to your appointment.
A referral from your doctor or optometrist is valid for 12months from the date on the referral. A referral from a specialist medicalofficer is valid for three months from the date on the referral. Once areferral has expired you will need to obtain a new referral before you returnto the eye specialist in order to be able to make a claim from Medicare.
We may need to dilate you pupils to permit a complete eye examination. If so, you are likely to be quite glare sensitive for the next 2-3 hours.
